Conceived and led by Bob Morand, former President of DW Simpson and, more recently, Sector Leader of Insurance with executive search firm Korn Ferry, AIA utilizes its extensive industry knowledge, a laser-focused market approach and executive search-level service to provide clients ideal candidate profiles to address their critical hiring needs in actuarial, predictive analytics, data science and underwriting, to name a handful.

AIA works with clients across the entire insurance spectrum, including primary carriers, reinsurers, consulting firms, brokerages, rating agencies, bureaus, state insurance departments and industry associations. Moreover, AIA covers all lines within the insurance space: property & casualty, life/annuity, health, pension/risk transfer and non-traditional tracts.

Bob Morand

Close to 30 years of experience in executive search and recruitment for critical hires in insurance

Bob is the founder and lead partner of AIA Search, LLC., and has been in the executive search and recruitment profession in the insurance space for close to 30 years.  

 

Bob launched AIA Search in November of 2018 to provide clients and candidates a new concept in insurance executive search...one which leverages his extensive experience and unparalleled industry contacts, laser-focused market approach and high-touch, executive search-level service to address clients' critical hiring needs in today's ultra-competitive marketplace for talent. AIA Search's focus is insurance professionals at the senior/executive level down through the mid-level professional ranks. 

​

Prior to AIA Search, Bob was Sector Leader of Insurance for Korn Ferry, the global leader in executive search. Bob worked with Korn Ferry's executive search insurance practice while also developing the firm's professional search practice, which focuses on mid- to senior level talent in the insurance industry. 


Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Bob was President and Managing Partner of DW Simpson Global Actuarial & Analytics Recruitment, the leading search firm in this space. Bob was with DW Simpson for 25 years, the last eight as president, managing partner, and leader of the firm's Retained Search Services division.

Throughout his career, Bob has worked extensively with primary carriers, reinsurers, consulting firms, brokerages, insurtechs, rating agencies, bureaus, and insurance departments. For these clients, Bob has recruited and placed insurance executives and professionals in actuarial, underwriting, product management, risk management, predictive analytics, data science, strategic transformation, legal and sales. 

 

Additionally, Bob has worked in the placement of Chief Executive Officers, Chief Actuaries, Chief Underwriting Officers, Chief Analytics Officers, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Direct Entry Partners into consultancies, and other mid-to-senior level professionals in support of these aforementioned roles. 

 

Moreover, Bob in the past 25 years has spoken, presented and continues to present at numerous industry conferences and for individual client companies. Session topics include: 1. Building Communication Skills Through Improvisation; 2. Creating Dynamic Presentations; and, 3. Hiring Trends In Today's Actuarial & Insurance Analytics Profession. 

 

A former professional improv actor, who had the good fortune to train and perform with Chris Farley, Jane Lynch, and Andy Richter, to name a few, Bob received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University.
